Grab a cup of coffee and sit tight whilst we take you a ride to crush the branding myths!
1, Once you have a logo and a business name, you have a brand❌
For starters, logos are just a part of your total branding package. In fact, your logo which is your corporate identity is only the first step in the branding process. Other factors that equally contribute to your brand are your values, belief system, product design & offering, packaging etc.
Major factors that also contribute to your branding are the emotional touchpoints with your customer plus everything you do to create "the customer experience".
2, Branding is too expensive and only for big firms❌
This is a no no as the advent of digital media has made it possible for small businesses to compete with bigger businesses in terms of creating awareness. The key is to know the needs of your audience and meet those needs cost effectively via digital means. Have a digital presence that cannot be ignored.
3, There's only one way to build a brand❌
Take note, there is no one right way to build a brand just as two businesses offering the same products cannot operate in like manner. In fact there are a thousand and one ways to build a brand because what works for company 'A' may not work for yours in terms of branding.
So when creating your brand, you have to factor in your values, mission statement, your unique product offerings, your target audience and customer experience.
